Most cases never need litigation
The overwhelming majority of inaccurate items come off through a properly documented dispute and validation campaign. Litigation is the exception, not the rule.
When to escalate legally
- A bureau repeatedly 'verifies' an item you have proven is inaccurate.
- A deleted item is re-inserted without the required written notice.
- A collector continues to report or call after a valid dispute or cease request.
- You are a victim of identity theft and the fraudulent accounts will not come off.
Your rights have teeth
The FCRA and FDCPA allow for actual damages, statutory damages, and attorney's fees against violators. Documented disputes are what make those remedies available — which is exactly why we document everything.
The Bottom Line
We build your file like it may end up in front of a judge. That is why furnishers delete instead of fight.
