The big three
Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion are private companies that sell your data to lenders. They do not talk to each other, which is why an item can be deleted at one bureau and stay at another. Every dispute campaign has to run at all three.
The secondary bureaus
LexisNexis, SageStream, Innovis, ARS, and the CFPB-registered specialty agencies also hold data that lenders pull. Cleaning only the big three leaves a back door open.
Business credit bureaus
Dun & Bradstreet, Experian Business, and Equifax Commercial score your company separately using your EIN. That is the file we build for business credit clients — completely separate from your SSN.
